Privacy Hedge Planting

We plant living privacy hedges that create a lush green screen well suited to Northwest yards.

What This Service Involves

A living hedge offers year-round privacy, wind buffering, and noise reduction that a fence simply cannot match. We recommend evergreen screens such as emerald green arborvitae, Portuguese laurel, or western red cedar, all of which thrive in our damp maritime climate. Proper spacing is critical, so we calculate mature width to give you a solid green wall without overcrowding that invites disease. Each hedge is planted in amended soil, mulched, and set up on a watering plan that carries the young plants through their first dry Northwest summer.

Benefits

Year-round privacy from a dense evergreen screen; Natural wind, dust, and noise reduction; Species proven to thrive in the maritime Northwest; Correct spacing that prevents disease and thinning; A softer, greener boundary than fencing

Our Process

1) Measure the run and select the right hedge species; 2) Space plants for a solid mature screen; 3) Amend soil and plant each specimen evenly; 4) Mulch and set a consistent establishment-watering plan

What Affects the Cost

Hedge length and plant count; Species and starting plant height; Soil amendment and drainage work; Site access and grading; Optional drip irrigation installation

Best Time of Year

Plant hedges in fall or early spring so roots establish during the rainy months before summer heat stresses the young plants.
