Rock Replacement

Old, dirt-choked rock removed and replaced with clean decorative stone and fresh weed barrier.

What This Service Involves

Rock beds look permanent, but over years in the Northwest they fill with soil, needles, and organic debris that let weeds take hold and dull the stone. We remove the fouled rock, install fresh landscape fabric, and lay clean decorative stone sized and colored to your design. The reset restores a sharp, low-maintenance surface that drains beautifully and won't decompose like bark. We can screen and reuse salvageable rock or bring in new river rock, basalt, or crushed stone.

Benefits

Eliminates the weed-harboring soil and debris buried in old rock; Restores clean, bright stone color and a defined bed line; Fresh fabric underneath renews long-term weed suppression; Permanent ground cover that never needs replenishing like mulch

Our Process

1) Remove and screen the old rock, hauling away fouled material; 2) Regrade the bed and install new woven weed barrier; 3) Set or refresh edging to contain the stone; 4) Install clean decorative rock to an even, consistent depth

What Affects the Cost

Bed area and depth of rock to be handled; Whether existing rock is salvaged or all-new stone is brought in; Stone type, from crushed basalt to river rock; New fabric, edging, and haul-away of debris; Access for heavy material transport and placement

Best Time of Year

Any dry-weather stretch works well; spring or summer makes screening and hauling the old rock far cleaner than during the wet season.
