1) Assess the existing lawn, drainage, and sun exposure; 2) Remove old turf and till in compost to loosen compacted clay; 3) Fine-grade the bed and set irrigation for even coverage; 4) Lay and roll fresh sod with staggered seams; 5) Water in deeply and provide a first-mow schedule
