Stacked Stone Retaining Wall

A dry-stacked stone wall built without mortar, delivering rustic charm and natural drainage for garden-height PNW slopes.

What This Service Involves

Stacked stone (dry-stack) retaining walls are fitted stone by stone without mortar, allowing water to weep through the joints, which is a natural advantage in the rainy Pacific Northwest. Our masons carefully overlap and batter each course so the wall leans into the slope and locks together for stability in soft, wet ground. Behind the face we add a gravel backfill zone so fine soil stays put while water drains freely. The result is a charming, garden-scale wall that ages gracefully and blends into cottage and woodland landscapes.
