Shaping Your Outdoors. Surpassing Expectations.
A top-up layer of fresh bark that revives faded beds without a full tear-out.
When your existing bark has thinned and greyed but the base is still sound, a refresh restores color and coverage at a fraction of a full replacement. We rake and level what's there, pull any weeds that have crept in, and blend a new two-inch cap of fir bark over the top so beds look freshly installed again. This is the smart maintenance choice for Puget Sound properties where sun-bleaching and rain have simply worn the surface thin. Your existing depth carries over, so we add only what the bed actually needs.
Restores rich color to sun-faded and rain-greyed beds; Costs far less than a full removal and reinstall; Tops up depth to keep suppressing weeds and holding soil moisture; Quick turnaround with minimal disruption to plantings
1) Rake and redistribute the existing bark to fill thin spots; 2) Hand-pull emerging weeds and clear leaf debris; 3) Re-cut edges where the bed line has softened; 4) Spread a fresh top layer of fir bark and blend for even coverage
Square footage being refreshed; Amount of raking and weeding the beds need first; Bark grade chosen to match your existing material; Ease of access for delivery and spreading; Whether edging touch-up is included
Ideal in mid-spring once the wettest weeks pass, or a light fall refresh to carry beds cleanly through the rainy months.
