What This Service Involves

The heavy clay and constant rainfall of the Pacific Northwest pack bed soil tight, leaving roots starved for oxygen and prone to standing water. Cultivation gently breaks up that crust between plants, working in compost and improving the soil structure without disturbing established roots. We also fold in organic matter that feeds soil life and helps beds drain through the wettest months. The result is looser, healthier ground that supports stronger, more resilient plants.

Our Process

1) Inspect soil compaction and moisture between plantings; 2) Loosen the top layer with hand tools around root zones; 3) Work in compost and organic amendments; 4) Level the surface and refresh mulch on top
