What This Service Involves

Bluestone is a tight-grained sandstone whose cool blue-gray tones pair naturally with the evergreen backdrop and overcast light of Western Washington. It is available thermal-finished for a smooth, uniform surface or natural-cleft for subtle texture and grip underfoot. The stone is dense and low-absorption, which helps it resist the moss staining and spalling that plague softer materials through our long wet winters. We install it over a compacted base with careful drainage fall, and sawn-edge pieces let us achieve crisp, contemporary joint lines.

1) Confirm layout, finish, and drainage grade; 2) Excavate and compact a crushed-rock base; 3) Screed a leveling bedding course; 4) Set bluestone units with consistent joint spacing; 5) Sweep joints, compact, and seal if desired
