What This Service Involves

Gabion retaining walls are welded wire cages filled with angular stone, creating a permeable structure that lets Puget Sound groundwater pass straight through the wall. This exceptional drainage makes gabions ideal for our saturated hillsides where water pressure destroys solid walls, though we still add a geotextile and gravel zone behind the baskets to hold back fine soil. The flexible cages tolerate minor ground settlement without cracking. The rugged, modern aesthetic works well for contemporary landscapes and erosion-control applications throughout Western Washington.

Our Process

1) Excavate and prepare a level gravel base; 2) Assemble and set the wire baskets; 3) Hand-pack the baskets with angular stone; 4) Place geotextile and gravel backfill behind the cages; 5) Close basket lids and finish surrounding grade
