What This Service Involves

Curtain drains target the underground water that seeps sideways through saturated PNW hillsides, a problem surface drains cannot solve. We dig a gravel-filled trench with perforated pipe across the uphill side of the area you want to protect, creating a barrier that catches groundwater as it migrates. The intercepted water is collected and piped to a lower discharge point well away from structures. This is the go-to fix for chronically soggy lawns, wet crawl spaces, and slopes that stay saturated long after the rain stops.

Our Process

1) Identify the groundwater flow direction and interception line; 2) Excavate a deep trench across the uphill side; 3) Line the trench and place perforated pipe on a gravel bed; 4) Backfill with drain rock and wrap in filter fabric; 5) Route the collected water to a safe downhill outlet

Best Time of Year

Install in late summer or early fall when the water table is lowest, making deep trenching far easier and drier.
