Poured (cast-in-place) concrete retaining walls are formed and reinforced with steel, creating a single monolithic structure that carries the heaviest loads and greatest heights of any wall type. In the Puget Sound region we design these walls with weep holes, a perforated drain pipe, and a gravel drainage zone so relentless winter rain cannot build hydrostatic pressure behind the solid face. The reinforced footing spreads the load across soft, wet PNW soils to prevent settling. A smooth or textured finish gives a clean, contemporary look that lasts for decades.
